From the Desk of the President...

The Texas Rodeo Hall of Fame Committee invites the community to our 2023 Induction Ceremony held at 11 am on Friday, June 23, 2023. Meet us under the trees beside the West of the Pecos Museum in Centennial Park, across from the Old T&P Depot.

This year we are honored to include:

Mack Altizer for his contribution as an outstanding stock contractor, who revitalized bull riding by introducing high-energy and modern marketing techniques into rodeo events. He joins several family members including his father, Jim Bob Altizer, who was inducted in 2004and an aunt, Blanche Altizer Smith, inducted in 2014. Altizer makes his home in Del Rio, Texas.

Doug Miller, a native of Pecos, Texas, will not only be inducted for his achievements as a team roper, but the renovation of the Baggage Area of the Old T&P Depot to house theTexas Rodeo Hall also ofFamewascompleted during his presidency. He joins his sister, Sis Miller, a 2016 TRHoF Inductee.

Taos Muncy, a Corona, New Mexico native, is a 2-time World Champion Saddle BroncRider, who qualified for the NFR 11 times in his career. Taos is giving back to the world of rodeo with the TaosMuncy Rodeo Scholarship presented annually at the Taos Muncy Invitational which showcases professional saddle bronc riding.

After the ceremony we will be entertained by the Western Swing fiddle of Jody Nix and the Texas Cowboys, the Western artwork of Wayne Baize and Mike Capron, and enjoy Chuckwagon chicken fried steak, mashed potatoes, gravy, beans & peach cobbler, and HTeaO Iced Tea, as the stories and reminiscing add to this memorable day.
