Charles Good lived in Elida, New Mexico.  The West of the Pecos Rodeo will always be special to Charles.  Roping steers has always been a passion of Good’s and competing at the West of The Pecos Rodeo was like icing on the cake for him.  Good first competed in 1960 and last threw a loop in Pecos in 2000.  He won the calf roping title at Pecos in 1965.

          Charles has been a professional cowboy for over 55 years and was the PRCA Champion Steer Roper in 1976 and also won the finals average that year.  He is a 3 times Seniors Champion Steer Roper in 1987, 1991, and 1996 and a 4 times Senior Finals Average Winner in 1987, 1991, 1996, and 2007.

          Charles and his wife Doris ranched in New Mexico.  They had one son, Gary.  Gary was the PRCA Steer Roping Champion in 1979 and also won the steer roping in Pecos in 1976.  Charles’ brother, Billy Frank, won the team roping in Pecos in 1976.
