Roy (Super Looper) Cooper was born to rope. His dad Tuffy, also a roper, has been his coach, teacher and most loyal fan since Roy was born in Hobbs, New Mexico on November 13, 1955.

Roy began rodeoing by competing n the AJRA where he was named the most outstanding all time person in that organization. He was next the National High School Champion, the NIRA Champion and PRCA Champion. He had the honor of winning Calgary, Pendleton and Cheyenne in the same year. He was also the Rookie of the Year and World Champion in the PRCA in the same year. Cooper is one of only 3 cowboys to win the Calf Roping, the Steer Roping and the All Around in the PRCA in the same year.

Roy holds 8 World Championships and was a Triple Crown Winner in 1983. He first competed at the West of the Pecos Rodeo in 1976 and last competed in 1995. Roy along with Tuffy stays very busy hauling Roy’s three boys, Clint, Clif, and Tuf to rodeos all over the United States and Canada. Championship roping is also in their blood.
