Mary Dale “Sis” Miller

Sis graduated from Pecos High School in 1959 where she was president of the 4H. She began riding horses as a baby at Rustler Springs and started roping and running barrels at 6 or 7 years old. She was known for her gentle kindness to her family and her community. Sis competed in Fort Stockton before the GRA was started and competed their all of her life. She was an excellent horsewoman and trained two of her own barrel horses. She also won several All-Around championships. Sis never won the West of the Pecos Rodeo Barrel Races, but drew many checks here over the years. After getting her GRA card, Miller competed in cutting horse contests as well as barrel racing and calf roping. Sis was inducted into to Texas Rodeo Hall of Fame in 2016.
