Jim Davis
Born on June 3, 1956 in Ponca City, Oklahoma, Jim Davis began his “Rodeo Days” in 1977 at the West of the Pecos Rodeo. Over the years becoming the Pecos Rodeo’s Champion steer roper twice and winning in the calf roping, wild cow milking and team roping.
Jim was the World Champion Steer Roper in 1985 and 1986 and qualified for the steer roping finals many times and was the finals average champ.
In his more than 28 year rodeo career, he has won both Cheyenne and Pendleton, twice.
Jim attended Ponca City schools and colleges in Wyoming and Colorado. Jim has three children, Bryce, Samantha and Sheridan. His son Bryce has competed in steer roping at the Pecos Rodeo and is currently in the “Top 5″ in the nation in that event.
