David Lynn Hess

David Lynn Hess competed at the West of the Pecos Rodeo from the 1950’s until the 1970’s. Hess attended public schools in California and Sul Ross University in Alpine, Texas. He began farming in Reeves County in 1948 and owned Hess Chevrolet from 1976 until 1980. Being civic minded, David served on the West of the Pecos Rodeo Committee, the Pecos Independent School Board and on the Security Bank Board. He took care of the rodeo grounds in the 60’s and 70’s and enjoyed the work along with visiting with the timed event cowboys that he once competed against. Hess competed all over the USA, but was always in Pecos over the 4th of July. David Hess was inducted into the Texas Rodeo Hall of Fame in 2016.
